- Old Business
- Review of Spring Recycle Event – Would like to do the event again. The weather was not the best, but there were drop-offs for every type of material we advertised. Made $100 on the raffle (split 50/50 between MNA and Sustainable Klamath)
- Food samples for decision on Third Thursday Booth – Isabel spoke with someone from County health, and got more details about the requirements for serving food at the event. $40 fee for booth. Basic food safety requirements – must have running water, refrigeration. They did not recommend any electrical appliances needing to be plugged in. Could use propane. Food that Isabel prepared for this meeting to taste test: elotes (corn on the cob with mayo, cheese, and picante seasoning), limeade, nachos.
- Other thoughts about the event: limeade (not expensive to make, doesn’t compete with lemonade at event). Raffle for yard art – Isabel shared pictures of retired bowling balls painted to look like bees, ladybugs, and other garden creatures.
- New Business
- Sunday Swap Meet – Community Market was successful last year, despite COVID. No other activities on Sundays in town – would be great to have an event Sunday afternoons. Swap Meets and yard sales are very popular in our town. Will explore this idea further…
- Proposal for Sponsorship for Mills Neighborhood Rejuvenating of East Main Street – KCAR would like to sponsor this effort. Will work to put together a former proposal for KCAR to review.
- Public Comment
- Food pantry will be going in at this IYS building. Freezer and dry goods, working with Klamath-Lake County Food Bank. Patrick – Look into Coolbot device, which can turn a room into a cooler.
- The club that Taylor is a part of at OIT is selling birdhouses. They will be for sale at the Nutrition Hub. Sidewalk tiles and art contest – Taylor’s friend is working on a $250 grant to support the project. Waiting on more info.
