- Call to Order – President Rodriguez called the meeting to order at 6:05pm
- Roll Call
- Board members present: President Rodriguez, VP Patrick Sullivan, Secretary/Treasurer Kaitlin Hakanson, At-large Member Minea Kiss. Absent: none
- General members present: Tabita Rodriguez, Taylor Hampton, Efren Gutierrez
- Old Business
- Aprons have been completed – excited to use them!
- Recycling event for Earth Day – Saturday, April 24, 9:00 to 4:00 – Mattresses, glass (except window pane glass), household batteries, scrap metal. Tables set up for Sustainable Klamath, REACH. Will have a raffle with gift certificates from E. Main businesses.
- New Flags – need to figure out size and material
- New Business
- Donation pledged – KCAR (Klamath County Association of Realtors) would like to sponsor activities to beautify E. Main.
- Third Thursday – Planned to begin in July. Taylor: for a nonprofit to have their booth fee at Third Thursday waived, need to have a free activity. Youth Without Borders did a cornhole game in the past.
- Midge Festival – Planned for Aug. 27 & 28 at Veterans Park. Will be sponsored by Klamath County Vector Control. Isabel would like to develop a “Midge Smoothie” for the event.
- Open House for Nutrition Hub – Soft open tomorrow, grand opening on Friday (4/9). Lots of resources, “health equity”, internet access, transportation, summer survey revealed that many people didn’t know about food options for their kids. Considering mailing information directly to peoples’ homes.
- Public Comment
- We are donating the scarecrows that were donated to us to Sustainable Klamath.
- Pickets for fence around new playground at Moore Park. Would be nice to have an MNA picket.
- Grants for home improvements from Klamath County. There is a waiting list. Add your name to the waiting list so that the program can have more money available next year (demonstrating need)
- Kendra Santiago is with the Downtown Association now.
- Top Notch – selling plants and other things
- More lights are going up around IYS building. MNA appreciates all the new lights that have been installed on East Main Street!
